Estigmatización de las enfermedades mentales y el papel preventivo del trabajo social sanitario

Abstract

Este trabajo de fin de Grado pretender demostrar la estigmatización de las enfermedades mentales y el papel preventivo del trabajo social sanitario, enfocándose tanto en la perspectiva de los profesionales como en la de los familiares y personas con enfermedad mental. Para llevar a cabo este objetivo se ha realizado un estudio cualitativo basándonos en entrevistas semiestructuradas tanto personas diagnosticadas de enfermedad mental y sus familiares como a profesionales del sector del trabajo social sanitario. Durante este trabajo hemos podido deducir que la estigmatización existe en muchos contextos de la vida, pero que el trabajo de un buen profesional puede ayudar a reducirla notablemente y a concienciar al resto de población, con ayuda siempre de la esfera política que nos rodea.

This final degree project aims to demonstrate the stigmatization of mental illness and the preventive role of social work in healthcare, focusing on the perspectives of both professionals and their families and people with mental illness. To achieve this objective, a qualitative study was conducted based on semi-structured interviews with both people diagnosed with mental illness and their families, as well as professionals in the healthcare social work sector. Through this work, we were able to deduce that stigmatization exists in many contexts, but that the work of a good professional can help significantly reduce it and raise awareness among the general population, always with the help of the political sphere that surrounds us.
