Dilemas éticos de trabajo social en el ámbito hospitalario

Abstract

Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado se centra en analizar la importancia de la ética en la práctica profesional de trabajo social en el ámbito hospitalario, a través del estudio de los dilemas éticos que enfrentan las trabajadoras sociales. La investigación aborda el impacto de los dilemas éticos, conociendo el papel de la formación ética, y los apoyos y recursos con los que cuentan para resolverlos. El estudio se desarrolla mediante un enfoque cualitativo, a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas realizadas de forma individual a las trabajadoras sociales del Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valladolid. Mediante estas entrevistas se conocen las experiencias y percepciones de las profesionales respecto a los dilemas éticos. Los resultados muestran la importancia de la ética y la alta frecuencia de dilemas éticos en las intervenciones llevadas a cabo desde el hospital, para actuar desde un punto de vista ético y resolverlos correctamente es necesario tener una formación ética adecuada y actualizada. Las profesionales se enfrentan a ellos diariamente, para resolverlos suelen consultar a otros compañeros. La escasez de recursos y la carga de trabajo influyen de manera negativa en estos, al igual que en el bienestar de las profesionales y en la calidad de las intervenciones.

This Final Degree Project focuses on analysing the importance of ethics in the professional practice of social work in the hospital setting, through the study of the ethical dilemmas faced by social workers. The research addresses the impacts of ethical dilemmas, the role of ethics training, and the support and resources available to resolve them. The study was carried out using a qualitative approach, through semi-structured interviews conducted individually with the social workers of the Hospital Clínico Universitario of Valladolid. Through these interviews, the experiences and perceptions of the professionals with regard to ethical dilemmas were obtained. The results show the importance of ethics and the high frequency of ethical dilemmas in the interventions carried out in the hospital. In order to act from an ethical point of view and resolve them correctly, it is necessary to have adequate and up-to-date ethical training. The professionals are confronted with these dilemmas on a daily basis, and in order to resolve them they tend to ask other colleagues. The scarcity of resources and the workload have a negative influence on these, as well as on the well-being of the professionals and the quality of the interventions.
