El principal objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el efecto perjudicial de la Segunda Guerra Mundial en la salud mental de seis voluntarios de la División Azul. A partir de los expedientes clínicos creados tras su internamiento en el Hospital Psiquiátrico de Conxo, estudiaremos sus vidas tras su regreso a una España cuyos psiquiatras negaban a capa y espada la incidencia de las guerras en la mente, y marcaban distancias con la psiquiatría europea del momento, preocupados por apoyar al nuevo régimen y erigir una “Nueva España” con resonancias del Siglo de Oro.
The main objective of this work is to analyze the detrimental effect of the Second World War on the mental health of six volunteers of the Blue Division. From the clinical records created after their internment in the Psychiatric Hospital of Conxo, we will study their lives after their return to a Spain whose psychiatrists denied the incidence of war on the mind, and distanced themselves from European psychiatry at the time, concerned with supporting the new regime and building a “New Spain” with resonances of the Golden Age.
