En el desaparecido convento de San Francisco, de Valladolid se conservaban numerosas piezas de platería americana que diversos comisarios generales de la Orden en las Indias enviaban desde ultramar. Se dan noticias sobre la más notable de ellas: una gran custodia de tipo sol, traída en 1671 por Fray Hernando de Rúa y restaurada en 1714, y de las andas que para ella hizo en Valladolid, en 1729, el platero Damián Bentura. La custodia se perdió, seguramente, durante la ocupación francesa.
The disappeared convent of San Francisco in Valladolid used to keep a large number of silver objects, sent from overseas by the several commissioners of the religious order in The Indies. We have news of the most outstanding of these pieces: a large solar-shaped monstrance brought in 1671 by Fray Hemando de Rua and restored in 1714, as well as of the portable platform made for it in Valladolid in 1729 by the silversmith Damián Bentura. The monstrance went missing, presumably, during the French occupation.
