Atendiendo a razones estilísticas se atribuye una pintura del tema de Susana y los viejos del Museo San Telmo de San Sebastián (Guipúzcoa) a Vincent Sellaer, pintor flamenco de mediados del siglo XVI, muy influido por las propuestas italianas de Rafael y Andrea del Sarto. Alabado por Karel van Mander a comienzos del siglo XVII, en los últimos años están apareciendo nuevas aportaciones a su catálogo de obras. La singularidad de la tabla que aquí se estudia, ha promovido la búsqueda de su origen en el coleccionismo hispano de siglos precedentes, sugiriendo, a modo de hipótesis, una procedencia de las colecciones regias.
According to the stile, it is attributed to Vincent Sellaer the painting of Susanna with the elders at the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastian. He is a Flemish painter working around the middle of 16th Century, very influenced by the Italians, Raphael and Andrea del Sarto. Praised by Karel van Mander at the beginning of 17th Century, in recent years they are been published other attributions to his production. The singularity of this painting, which is studied below, has caused to look up over its provenance in Spanish collections of centuries before. Only, as a hypothesis, it is suggested that the painting comes from the Spanish royal collection.
