Análisis de los dedicantes en la epigrafía funeraria de soldados pretorianos de etapa altoimperial

Abstract

Se efectúa aquí una valoración porcentual de dedicantes sobre lápidas básicamente funerarias de soldados pretorianos de etapa altoimperial. Se establecen comparaciones con otros grupos de soldados y se analiza la importancia del núcleo familiar (y de compañeros y amigos del soldado) como principales agentes de un deber sagrado hacia el fallecido. Así, se establecen tres grupos: el de los miembros del núcleo familiar y dependientes (liberti), el de los allegados de oficio (soldados, veteranos y compañeros de armas en general) y el más impreciso, de los herederos (heredes), algunos nominados, que pueden responder de forma encubierta y en determinados casos (?) a alguno de los anteriores.
