<mods:abstract>La ópera King Priam de Tippett (1962) es un buen ejemplo de los libretos operísticos de tema clásico en el siglo xx. El texto, escrito por el propio compositor, trasluce un conocimiento directo de las fuentes literarias clásicas -en esta ocasión la Iliada-, al tiempo que procede a una relectura de aquellas desde planteamientos actuales.</mods:abstract>
<mods:abstract>Tippett's opera King Priam (1962) is a good example of an operatic libretti of the 20th century based on a classical topic. The text, written by the composer himself, shows direct knowledge of the literary classic sources -on this occasion, the Iliad-, while giving, at the same time, rise to a rereading from those sources, by taking current approaches into account.</mods:abstract>
