En este trabajo, planteo una serie de actividades que pretenden potenciar la lectura de
libros en inglés, en el entorno de un colegio bilingüe, de Palencia ya que este proyecto
de animación a la lectura en lengua inglesa, nació a raíz de mi estancia en el mismo.
Las actividades que presento pueden aplicarse no solo a las clases de cuarto, ya que con
las modificaciones pertinentes pueden adaptarse a cualquier clase del segundo ciclo de
primaria.
Los libros que he escogido para trabajar son en su mayoría, los que, me inspiraron para
realizar el proyecto. La literatura es la mejor puerta de entrada para conocer otras
realidades y culturas, en este caso la de los países de habla anglosajona. Y para ver lo
que es distinto lo otro como algo positivo y cercano.
Debemos destacar también la figura del profesor como mediador entre estos libros y los
alumnos, es el profesorado quien desde el aula y con ayuda de las familias, descubrirá
los libros y el placer de la lectura sus alumnos, ya sea en un primer o un segundo
idioma.
In this essay, I will propose a set of activities to improve / strengthen the reading of
books in English language in a Primary school. I chose this bilingual school because I
spent some time there during my teaching practices.
The activities I present can be applied not only to 4th year students but to any other
students, because they can be easily adapted to any other level on the 2nd cycle of
Primary Education.
The books I have chosen to work with inspired me to develop this project. I think that
literature is the best way to get to know other cultures and realities and in this case the
English speaking countries' culture. They can also be a point of access to understand
what is different as something positive and closer to us.
Also, we have to highlight the image of the teacher as mediators between these books
and the students; it is the teacher who will uncover the books and the pleasure of
reading either in a first or a second language, to the children and the one who will ask
the families to help him do it.
