Los descubrimientos geográficos en el siglo XV.

En el presente trabajo abordamos los descubrimientos geográficos realizados durante el
siglo XV en el Océano Atlántico por parte de los reinos Castilla y Portugal, analizando
los antecedentes que hicieron posible la ampliación de los horizontes geográficos
medievales. Además, tratamos brevemente, de señalar los avances científicos que
propiciaron el desarrollo de la tecnología náutica así como el auge de los portulanos.
The present project aims to address the geographical discoveries made during the
fifteenth century in the Atlantic Ocean by two of the kingdoms of the Iberian Peninsula,
analyzing the background that made the expansion of the medieval geographical
horizons possible. This assignment also briefly explains the scientific advances that led
to the development of marine technology and the rise of the portulan charts.
