La Revolución de Octubre de 1934: episodios de violencia en la actual provincia de Valladolid

Tras la proclamación de la Segunda República y durante el primer bienio (1931-
1933) se van a intentar llevar a cabo varias reformas tiempo atrás esperadas por gran
parte de la población desde la conjunción republicano-socialista, como la reforma
militar, la religiosa o la agraria. El cambio de gobierno de 1933 a favor del Partido
Radical y la CEDA supone la desactivación y vuelta atrás de estas reformas, causando
una crisis interna en las filas del PSOE. La entrada de los ministros cedistas en el
gobierno hará que los socialistas abandonen su reformismo lanzándose a la revolución,
que sólo se puede constatar como tal en Asturias. En la actual Castilla y León se
producen varios levantamientos, como en varias localidades vallisoletanas, y su
resultado marcará los sucesos que se producirán tras el golpe de estado de 1936.
After the proclamation of the Second Republic and during the first two years
(1931- 1933) an attempt was made by the Republican-Socialist conjunction to carry
out various reforms which were desired by much of the population, such as those related
to military, religion or land. The change of government in 1933 in favor of the Radical
Party and the CEDA resulted in the deactivation and backtracking of these reforms,
causing an internal crisis in the ranks of the PSOE. The rise to power of the CEDA
ministers in the government in turn makes the socialists abandon their reformism and
lean towards revolution, which can only be seen as such in Asturias. At this
point in Castilla y León several uprisings occur, as in several locations in Valladolid and
its outcome will mark the events that will take place after the 1936 coup.
