Las fortalezas de las Órdenes Militares en la Corona de Castilla

Las Órdenes Militares jugaron durante la Edad Media un gran papel en el Reino de
Castilla y en la Península Ibérica en general. Con ellas, junto con otras instituciones, se hizo
frente al Islam que tan cerca tenían los reinos cristianos peninsulares, no solo no dejándole
avanzar, sino que además logrando que retrocediera sus posiciones. Pero además, estas
milicias tuvieron otras funciones destacadas que nada tenían que ver con el mundo musulmán.
Tanto para luchar contra el Islam como para sus intervenciones entre los cristianos, un
componente sustancial fueron sus fortalezas. La adquisición de éstas, su pérdida de y sus
funciones es la parte de la historia que se analiza en este trabajo.
During the middle ages the Military Orders played a great role in the Kingdom of
Castilla and the Iberian península in general. Togeher with them other institutions, it was
faced the Islam that had the Cristian peninsular Kingdoms so nearby, not only not leaving him
to advance, but also achieving that he moved back his positions. In addition these militias had
other outstanding functions that had nothing in common with the Moslem Word. As much to
fight against the Islam like for his interventions between the Cristians, his strenghts were a
substantial compinent. The acquisition of these, their loss and their functions are the parts of
the history that I discuss in this work.
