<mods:abstract>La discriminación a la hora de realizar un trabajo es una violación de un derecho humano elemental, y más aún, si se habla de discriminación a la hora de percibir un salario. El estudio del presente trabajo se centra en analizar la existencia de discriminación salarial por razón de género. Según algunos estudios, las mujeres perciben un 77% menos del salario que reciben los hombres, si bien es cierto que esta diferencia está disminuyendo con el paso del tiempo. Existen bases de datos de las que se puede extraer información real y analizar estadística y econométricamente las diferencias salariales en función de ciertos atributos: sexo, edad, procedencia geográfica, jornada laboral, tipos de contratación… Con este análisis se pretende conocer las causas de las diferencias de salario en hombres y mujeres para intentar solventarlas lo antes posible. De esta manera, se promovería el bienestar de las familias, aumentaría la competitividad empresarial y se produciría un éxito económico derivado de una justicia social.</mods:abstract>
