La tecnología ha disparado el crecimiento económico en los últimos dos siglos
y ha tenido efectos muy positivos sobre la productividad y el empleo. Sin
embargo, con la llegada de la Cuarta Revolución Industrial y el surgimiento de
nuevas disciplinas tecnológicas, tales como la Inteligencia Artificial y el
aprendizaje automático, el mercado laboral está siendo sometido a una profunda
transformación. Muchas tareas están comenzando a desaparecer y las nuevas
que van surgiendo requieren, en su mayoría, una serie de habilidades para las
que no todos los individuos están preparados. Por ello, en esta nueva era cobra
especial importancia la acumulación del capital humano, convirtiéndose el factor
educativo en la principal fuente de desigualdad de la población. En este trabajo
se tratarán de explicar los problemas que todo ello pueda ocasionar y se darán
pautas que garanticen la igualdad de oportunidades a largo plazo.
Technology has triggered economic growth in the last two centuries and has
had very positive effects on productivity and employment. However, with the
arrival of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the emergence of new tehnological
disciplines, such as Artificial Intelligence and machine learning, the labor market
is being undergone a profound transformation. Many tasks are beginnig to
disappear and most of the new ones which are emerging require a set of skills
for which not all individuals are prepared. Therefore, in this new era, the
accumulation of human capital is particularly important, with the educational
factor becoming the main source of population inequality. In this paper we will try
to explain the problems that all this may cause and guidelines will be given that
guarantee equal opportunities in the long term.
