Simón Ruiz supone una pieza clave en ese análisis, pues nos permite conocerle mejor a través de su archivo y amplia correspondencia. The contrast that arises between the two personal plots of a merchant-banker of the 16th century, the mundane or temporary one as opposed to the religious and spiritual, is the basis of this work that tries to show what that world of merchants was like, as well as the consequences of their comercial and financial activities about something very valuable in the human being as was his conscience, his perception of the search for merits for the transit to the ultraworld.
