El presente trabajo de investigación propone la realización de un análisis comparativo de los
contenidos informativos sobre el fenómeno demográfico de la despoblación –sobre todo
focalizada en la vertiente interior norte de la península ibérica– en los medios de
comunicación de referencia españoles, a nivel tanto nacional como regional. Para ello se
toman como modelo dos diarios representativos para con el tema a abordar: El País, el diario
español generalista más leído, y El Norte de Castilla, el primer diario regional de la
comunidad autónoma más afectada por la pérdida de población en el ámbito rural: Castilla y
León. Así pues, en este trabajo se van a seleccionar y analizar piezas de información de
interés sobre el tema en cuestión teniendo en cuenta aspectos como el género periodístico en
el que se inscriben, los enfoques y marcos informativos que recibe la información, su carácter
evaluativo o su adscripción teórica y relación con aspectos a tener en cuenta de teorías de la
información como la teoría del framing o la teoría de la agenda setting.
The present research paper proposes the realization of a comparative analysis of the
informative contents on the demographic phenomenon of depopulation –especially focused
on the northern interior slope of the Iberian Peninsula– in the Spanish reference media, both
national and regional. In order to do so, two representative newspapers in relation to the topic
will be considered and analysed. The first one will be El País; the most widely read Spanish
generalist newspaper. And the second one will be El Norte de Castilla; the first regional
newspaper of the most affected autonomous community for the loss of population in rural
areas, Castilla y León. Thus, this paper will select and analyse pieces of information of
interest on the subject in question taking into account aspects such as the journalistic genre in
which they are registered, the approaches and informative frameworks that they receive, its
evaluative nature or its theoretical ascription and relationship with theories such as the
framing theory or the theory of agenda setting, which would be taken into account.
