Facultad de Filosofía y Letras El presente trabajo es una investigación sobre la evolución del fotoperiodismo a través de la perspectiva del premio anual internacional World Press Photo of the Year. Se expone la génesis y evolución histórica del fotoperiodismo, un recorrido por la presencia de la mujer en la profesión en los siglos XX y XXI y se explica la historia de la organización World Press Photo y la estructuración de su concurso. Se recurre a la metodología de análisis de contenido de las sesenta y dos fotografías que han recibido el galardón más importante del concurso desde su primera edición en 1955 hasta la última en 2020 para presentar la evolución en el contenido y la estética de las instantáneas y realizar una aproximación a la visión de la mujer fotoperiodista. The present work is an investigation on the evolution of photojournalism through the perspective of the annual international World Press Photo of the Year award. The genesis and historical evolution of photojournalism is exposed, a journey through the presence of women in the profession in the 20th and 21st centuries and the history of the World Press Photo organization and the structure of its contest are explained.
