Tras el conflicto con Cartago, cambia el interés que Roma tenía en la Península.
Los pactos que Roma había impulsado con indígenas, la creación de colonias, el comercio
o las posibilidades de explotación que ofrecía la Península, fueron algunos de los factores
que motivaron la permanencia romana. Después de 25 años de paz impulsados por Graco,
estalla la Guerra Celtibera. Seguidamente de 20 años de confrontación y devastación, era
necesaria una reorganización de la Celtiberia, y pasar de una intervención militar a
cambios de más calado en el organigrama social y político. La romanización trae consigo
una serie de cambios y transformaciones en diferentes ámbitos. Nos hallamos ante un
intercambio desigual de influencias que termina con la adopción celtíbera de formas de
vida romanas. La romanización como un proceso plural y heterogéneo, que influyó de
forma diferente en Hispania, y más concretamente en la Celtiberia. Con la llegada de la
época imperial la romanización se extiende y consolida.
