El arte de contar historias. Sherlock Holmes como ejemplo de transmedialidad

Sherlock Holmes es uno de los personajes de ficción más reconocidos, cuya fama
se extiende tanto temporal como espacialmente. Así, el universo ficcional en el que se
desarrolla su historia ha trascendido la frontera literaria original para alcanzar otros
medios comunicativos, tales como el cómic, la televisión, el cine y el videojuego.
Este trabajo pretende un acercamiento a esta figura y a su atractivo, desarrollado
no solo por su autor canónico, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, sino también a través de los
numerosos casos de productos apócrifos. Estos hipertextos se hacen eco del continuo afán
reescritural, expansionista y transformador con el que ha sido abordado Sherlock Holmes
a través del tiempo y de los formatos.
Sherlock Holmes is one of the most recognizable fictional characters, whose fame
extends both in time and space. Thus, the fictional universe in which his story develops
has transcended the original literary barrier to reach other media, such as comics,
television, cinema and video games.
This paper aims to approach this iconic figure and his appeal, developed not only
by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but also through the numerous examples of apocryphal
products. The hypertexts echo the continuous reinterpretations and the expansionist and
transforming eagerness with which Sherlock Holmes has been approached through time
and formats.
