En este trabajo se desmenuza el concepto de “Revolución Industrial” y se
examinan algunos de los factores que la hicieron posible. Se investiga si las
modernas instituciones que la sociedad británica incorporó en esa época
ejercieron algún efecto sobre el resultado global de la misma.
Esta hipótesis se apoya principalmente en la teoría de política económica y en el
pensamiento económico basado en el institucionalismo, y defiende su
importancia para la emersión de la Revolución Industrial.
A pesar de esta positiva conclusión basada en los distintos argumentos de
expertos en la materia, también se valoran y comparan críticas hacia la
relevancia de las instituciones en el proceso de transformación social,
tecnológica y económica
The Industrial Revolution is decomposed in this essay, examining the different conditions that could make it possible, and specifically investigating whether the modern institutions that British society incorporated at that time had any effect on its overall result.
This hypothesis is based mainly on the theory of economic policy and on economic thought based on institutionalism: it defends its relative importance for the emergence of the Revolution.
Despite this positive conclusion based on the different experts’ arguments in the fields, criticisms of the relevance of institutions in the process of social, technological and economic transformation are also valued and compared.
