Mediante este trabajo se tratará de exponer la relevancia que ha tenido la
contracultura musical en la sociedad occidental durante las últimas cuatro décadas del siglo
XX. Los diferentes géneros musicales surgidos en esta época han representado a
generaciones enteras llegando a formar parte de la cultura popular. El estudio establece
relaciones entre el auge de los movimientos contraculturales juveniles y la música a través
del tiempo. De forma generalizada se expondrán a los mayores exponentes de la
contracultura desde la década de los sesenta hasta el 2000 y se pondrá en relieve la
importancia del desarrollo de nuevos géneros y tendencias a la hora de relacionarlas con
sus respectivas generaciones. Este estudio trata de poner de manifiesto la importancia que
ha tenido la música a la hora de generar movimientos contraculturales en la sociedad. A lo
largo de las décadas analizadas se ha apreciado una clara influencia de la música en la
cultura occidental como forma de expresión e identificación.
Through this work we will try to expose the relevance that the musical counterculture has
had in Western society during the last four decades of the twentieth century. The different
musical genres that emerged at this time have represented entire generations becoming part
of popular culture. The study establishes relationships between the rise of youth
countercultural movements and music over time. In a generalized way, the greatest
exponents of the counterculture will be exposed from the sixties to the 2000s and the
importance of the development of new genres and trends will be highlighted when relating
them to their respective generations. This study tries to highlight the importance that music
has had in generating countercultural movements in society. Throughout the decades
analyzed there has been a clear influence of music on Western culture as a form of
expression and identification.
