El presente Trabajo analiza minuciosamente, de forma global, la historia
de Banca Catalana y los hombres que la componían. Catalana forma parte aún
de la realidad de Cataluña y sigue siendo una entidad que genera gran
controversia. Estudiaremos desde el origen del grupo bancario de la familia Pujol
hasta su época de mayor expansión y éxito, pero también la caída financiera del
imperio bancario en lo que se conoce como caso Banca Catalana, quiénes
fueron los responsables y cuáles fueron los métodos utilizados que
desembocaron en la querella de 22 de mayo de 1984. Se examinará también en
profundidad las prácticas ilícitas que se llevaron a cabo a través de la
denominada Caja B y las sociedades instrumentales del grupo. En definitiva, se
analizará la historia de Banca Catalana y sus responsables, desde su principio
hasta su final
This work thoroughly analyzes, globally, the history of Catalan Banking and the men that made it up. Catalan is still part of the reality of Catalonia and continues to be an entity that generates great controversy. We will study from the origin of the Pujol family banking group to its time of greatest expansion and success, but also the financial decline of the banking empire in what is known as the Catalan Banking case, who were responsible and what were the methods used that led to in the complaint of May 22, 1984. The illicit practices carried out through the so-called Caja B and the instrumental companies of the group will also be examined in depth. In short, the history of Banca Catalana and its managers will be analyzed, from its beginning to its end.
