La metodología usada para esta investigación ha sido descriptiva. A partir de datos del portal estadístico Global Entrepreneurship Monitor – GEM 2019, se ha valorado el problema del desempleo en España y las motivaciones que tienen los españoles para optar por el emprendimiento. Asimismo se han revisado trabajos de algunos especialistas en emprendimiento y marketing para conocer en qué medida el marketing es necesario para el éxito de un nuevo negocio. De los resultados se puede concluir que el ciudadano español sí se siente seguro de emprender un negocio, porque considera que tiene las habilidades y el conocimiento para ejecutarlo. Además, destaca que un plan de marketing y el uso de determinadas herramientas de marketing en el emprendimiento son un elemento esencial para la sostenibilidad y éxito de un nuevo negocio The objective of the research is to know the traits that an entrepreneur must have, the skills, the knowledge and how marketing becomes an essential tool for their success. The methodology used for this research has been descriptive, for this the statistical portal Global Entrepreneurship Monitor - GEM 2019 was used, to identify unemployment in Spain, and what are the motivations that Spaniards have in entrepreneurship issues.
