Tras la incorporación de distintas normativas que hacían modificaciones de la regulación de este contrato se introdujo una flexibilidad que era de interés para los empleadores y que perjudicaban a la figura del trabajador que tuviese una jornada de trabajo a tiempo parcial en comparación con los trabajadores con jornadas a tiempo completo. En la actualidad, existe la necesidad y la importancia de analizar las condiciones de trabajo que tienen las personas que poseen un contrato a tiempo parcial para darle una mayor protección ante el mercado laboral que les rodea. Para ello, debemos conocer los principios inspiradores de esta modalidad contractual, así como la regulación de este. En definitiva, debemos de analizar los pros y los contras de esta modalidad contractual, y poder hacer frente a las vulneraciones que pueden surgir en este tipo de contrato; así como buscar alternativas y soluciones para hacer frente a esas situaciones y buscar una igualdad entre todos los trabajadores.
