El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado ofrece una revisión bibliográfica sobre los
cambios y la evolución histórica del Trabajo Social Penitenciario español desde sus
orígenes hasta la actualidad. Para ello, se va a llevar a cabo un recorrido histórico a
partir de diferentes estudios desde los inicios del sistema penitenciario en algunos
lugares del mundo, hasta llegar al Trabajo Social Penitenciario español actual.
Asimismo, se destacan algunos personajes célebres que han contribuido con sus
aportaciones a lo que se conoce hoy en día como Trabajo Social Penitenciario.
A lo largo de todo el trabajo, se destaca la importancia de la figura del
Trabajador Social Penitenciario como pieza clave y agente de cambio para la
consecución del objetivo principal de la pena privativa de libertad: la reinserción social.
This Final Degree Project offers a bibliographic review of the changes and
historical evolution of Spanish Prison Social Work from its origins to the present day.
For this purpose, a historical journey will be carried out from different studies from the
beginnings of the prison system in some parts of the world, until reaching the current
Spanish Prison Social Work. It also highlights some famous personalities who have
contributed to what is known today as Prison Social Work.
Throughout the assignment, the importance of the figure of the prison social
worker is highlighted as a key element and agent of change for the achievement of the
main objective of the prison sentence: social reintegration.
