For this reason, retellings arose, which are reinterpretations of previous works. This project will explain what masculinities consist of and what their objective is, in addition to showing what gender roles and stereotypes are attributed to men in fairy tales. Therefore, after an comparison between the male characters of four fairy tales in their original version and their respective postmodern versions, we will proceed to conclude if the theories that seek to blur rigid gender roles have achieved their goal in postmodern retellings or, on the contrary, the princes continue to maintain them in their physical appearance and behavior. El Postmodernismo en la literatura pretende crear nuevas formas ya que considera que ya está todo inventado. Por ello, surgieron los “retellings”, los cuales son reinterpretaciones de obras previas. En este proyecto se explicarán en qué consisten las masculinidades y cuál es su objetivo, además de mostrar cuales son los roles de género y los estereotipos que se atribuyen a los hombres en los cuentos de hadas.
