La prisión y la mujer

A lo largo del tiempo han existido diversas formas de sancionar las conductas
contrarias al pensamiento social. Avanzando en la historia, las personas que cometían delitos
han sido castigadas en establecimientos específicos que tenían la finalidad de penarlos y
custodiarlos. Avanzando en el tiempo, estos lugares han ido cambiando su finalidad hasta
llegar al pensamiento actual donde las cárceles van a tener como finalidad la reeducación y
reinserción social.
Haciendo un recorrido por el tiempo, podemos ver que las represalias impartidas a
los hombres y mujeres no eran las mismos. Han existido diversos centros de castigo para las
mujeres con finalidades diversas hasta llegar a las prisiones de hoy en día.
Aun teniendo un mismo sitio de reclusión, la privación de libertad entre hombres y
mujeres no es lo mismo, sufriendo en el caso de las mujeres, muchos más factores tanto
internos como externos que hace que su paso por prisión sea más difícil. A estas dificultades,
se le suma la tenencia de hijos dentro y fuera de la prisión, lo que va a afectar a estas mujeres
de una manera directa.
Throughout time, there have been various ways of punishing conduct contrary to
social thought. Moving forward in history, people who committed crimes have been
punished in specific establishments that had the purpose of punishing and guarding them.
Advancing in time, these places have been changing their purpose until reaching the current
thinking where prisons will have the purpose of reeducation and social reintegration.
Looking back in time, we can see that the punishments of men and women were not
the same. There have been several punishment centers for women with different purposes
until today's prisons.
Even having the same place of confinement, the deprivation of liberty between men
and women is not the same, suffering in the case of women, many more internal and external
factors that make their time in prison more difficult. In addition to these difficulties, having
children in and out of prison will directly affect the lives of these women prisoners.
