La presente investigación aborda el tema de la reutilización de
antiguos espacios industriales y los cambios de uso que estos pueden
experimentar a través de las diversas transformaciones. En concreto se
centra en aquellos espacios que anteriormente daban servicio a la
producción industrial del momento y que actualmente dan lugar a las
necesidades de trabajo contemporáneas.
En las ciudades actuales nos encontramos ante espacios abandonados que
han dejado numerosas industrias tras el cese de su actividad original. Pero
es, desde hace un par de décadas, que la sociedad se ve más interesada en
la protección de estos espacios industriales, y reclama la conservación de
los mismos, manteniendo sus valores sociales, testimoniales, de
legitimidad…, siendo estos atribuidos por la misma sociedad.
Dado que el alcance de arquitectura industrial es amplio, esta investigación
se acota a espacios industriales, pudiendo ser estas fábricas o naves en
desuso. Analizaremos también, el avance que ha tenido la arquitectura
industrial en cuanto a su conservación, puesta en valor y rehabilitación.
Reutilizar ha sido un eficaz recurso para la conservación de edificaciones,
actualmente, supone una tendencia al alza para cualquier tipo de edificios.
En esta investigacion en concreto, nos centraremos en la reutilizacion de
antiguos espacios industriales. En definitiva, es una forma de salvar un
edificio, beneficiando así a la ciudad, al medio ambiente y minimizando el
uso de nuevos materiales.
La construcción es el primer sector que participa en el deterioro del medio
ambiente, incluyendo estos espacios abandonados, siendo parte de la
expansión innecesaria de las ciudades, destruyendo así, el entorno natural.
En las últimas décadas, estamos asistiendo a un cambio y una
adecuación a las necesidades de los nuevos tiempos para evitar que
tengan impacto en el medio ambiente. Nos referimos a las prácticas
sostenibles, que nosotros mismos, como parte de esta sociedad, tenemos
que considerar.
Vivimos en un mundo donde la lucha por la crisis climática se ha
convertido en una prioridad, la sostenibilidad está llamada a tener un
impacto relevante en cada uno de los ámbitos de nuestra vida. Los
espacios de trabajo no son excepción y, entre ellos, el coworking se
posiciona como una solución inteligente y más sostenible para el trabajo
colaborativo.
Por lo tanto, siendo esta investigacion un acercamiento hacia un manual
de rehabilitacion sostenible en espacios industriales, se tomaran como
referencia actuaciones de rehabilitacion sostenible realizadas en antiguos
contenedores fabriles de España, mas especificamente, en fabricas y
naves obsoletas, reflexionando sobre el uso original de cada espacio en
su contexto economico-social, y su uso actual, ¿como antiguos espacios
de trabajo pueden ser transformados en nuevos espacios de trabajo
no industriales?, siendo esta incognita un punto clave de esta
investigación.
Muchos de estos espacios de trabajo se han establecido en antiguas
edificaciones, creando una nueva forma de arquitectura donde la
sostenibilidad, la transformación, la reutilización y el compromiso con la
sociedad se presentan como los pilares de un nuevo concepto de
construcción.
The present research addresses the issue of the reuse of old
industrial spaces and the changes in use that they may experience through
various transformations. Specifically, it focuses on those spaces that
previously served the industrial production of the moment and that
currently give rise to contemporary work needs.
In today's cities we find ourselves faced with abandoned spaces left behind
by numerous industries after the cessation of their original activity. But, for
a couple of decades, society has become more interested in the protection
of these industrial spaces, and demands their conservation, maintaining
their social, testimonial, legitimacy values..., these being attributed by the
same society.
Given that the scope of industrial architecture is broad, this research is
limited to industrial spaces, which may be disused factories or warehouses.
We will also analyze the progress that industrial architecture has had in
terms of its conservation, enhancement and rehabilitation.
Reusing has been an effective resource for the conservation of buildings;
currently, it represents an upward trend for any type of building. In this
specific research, we will focus on the reuse of old industrial spaces. In short,
it is a way to save a building, thus benefiting the city, the environment and
minimizing the use of new materials.
Construction is the first sector that participates in the deterioration of the
environment, including these abandoned spaces, being part of the
unnecessary expansion of cities, thus destroying the natural environment.
n the last decades, we are witnessing a change and an adaptation to the
needs of the new times to avoid having an impact on the environment.
We are referring to sustainable practices, which we ourselves, as part of
this society, have to consider.
We live in a world where the fight against the climate crisis has become
a priority, sustainability is called to have a relevant impact in each of the
areas of our lives. Workspaces are no exception and, among them,
coworking is positioned as a smart and more sustainable solution for
collaborative work.
Therefore, since this research is an approach towards a sustainable
rehabilitation manual in industrial spaces, sustainable rehabilitation
actions carried out in old manufacturing containers in Spain will be taken
as a reference, more specifically, in obsolete factories and warehouses,
reflecting on the original use of each space in its economic-social context,
and its current use, how old work
In this research we will analyze reuse projects of old factories/ships that
are classified as “good practices” in terms of sustainability, in order to
identify the most used lines of action and strategies, at the same time we
will analyze whether these actions are truly successful. If we can take
these measurements as legitimate data to conclude with a series of
recommendations/guidelines that we can take into account when
rehabilitating an old industrial space
