La repercusión que esto tiene en su calidad de vida es lo que ha hecho que se empiecen a tomar medidas para que puedan envejecer de la mejor manera posible. El fin de este trabajo, es analizar la situación por la que pasan las personas con discapacidad intelectual, del centro residencial de Laguna de Duero, perteneciente a Fundación Personas, y sus familias cuando comienza dicho proceso. Pudiendo reconocer las necesidades y los recursos que necesitan ambos para poder sobrellevar este suceso. La investigación pertinente al trabajo en cuestión se ha llevado a cabo en Laguna de Duero (Valladolid). El método utilizado ha sido de carácter cualitativo, en el cual se han realizado 12 entrevistas semiestructuras a familiares de los usuarios que estaban pasando por este proceso, tanto los que estaban al inicio como los que ya estaban muy avanzados. Los resultados nos han permitido conocer las distintas realidades por las que pasan estas familias, las dificultades que conllevan muchos momentos cuando este proceso comienza a notarse, así como la importancia del trabajador social del centro, ya que el desempeño y la vocación se hace notar en las respuestas de las entrevistas. Ageing in people with intellectual disabilities is a process that has started to become relevant since a few years ago. The repercussion that this has on their quality of life is what has made them start to take measures so that they can age in the best possible way. The aim of this work is to analyze the situation of people with intellectual disabilities in the residential center of Laguna de Duero, belonging to Fundación Personas, and their families. Being able to recognize the needs and resources that both need to be able to cope with this event. The research relevant to the work in question was carried out in Laguna de Duero (Valladolid). The method used was qualitative, in which 12 semi-structured interviews were carried out with the families of the users who were going through this process, both those who were at the beginning and those who were already very advanced.
