El envejecimiento es un proceso natural e inevitable para todas las personas, en este trabajo de
fin de grado nos centramos en el proceso de las personas con discapacidad intelectual (DI).
Antiguamente hablar del proceso de envejecimiento en personas con DI resultaba utópico. Los
avances en medicina y en la calidad de vida (CV) son los responsables de que la esperanza de
vida haya aumentado, y por consiguiente el número de personas con DI envejecidas. La
persona con DI necesita cuidados y atención durante toda su vida, pero en esta etapa surgen
muchas nuevas necesidades. Estas necesidades las cubre la familia, aunque en esta etapa se
hace bastante difícil teniendo en cuenta que también se encuentran en ese proceso. Es en este
momento cuando surgen las preocupaciones y deben plantearse alternativas para el cuidado
de su familiar. Además, en esta revisión bibliográfica analizamos la atención sociosanitaria y el
ocio de la persona con DI. Estas dos áreas son fundamentales en la inclusión y la CV de la
persona.
Aging is a natural and inevitable process for all people, in this final degree Project we focus on
the process of people with intelectual disabilities (ID). In the past, talking about the aging
process in people with ID was autopain. Advances in medicine and quality of life (QoL) are
responsable for the increase in life expectancy, and consequently the number or people with ID
aging. The person with ID neeed care and attention throughout his life, but at this stage many
new needs arise. These needs are convered by the family, although at this stage it becomes
quite difficult considering that they are also in that process. It is at this time when concerns
arise and alternatives should be considered for the care of your family member. In addition, in
this literatura review we analyze the socio-health care and leisure of the person with ID. These
two áreas are fundamental in the inclusión and QoL of the person.
