This work is dedicated to the field reporters in the football area, in radio on television. It is studied
the importance and evolution of this journalistic shape, just as their roles during the football
retransmissions. The investigation was started with questions like: What are the roles of field
reporters in radio and television? how important it the field reporter in the football
retransmissions?
It has been used a qualitative methodology for the development of the investigation, thanks to
interviews to twelve journalist who participates on live retransmissions or they have participated
in the past.
After the result analysis it’s clear that there is a big imbalance between field reporters on radio
and television, because of the compulsory position change of field radio reporters for making their
job. At the same time, it has been proved that the tasks of the field journalism are extras during
the daily work of the professionals on the media. It exists a high level of agreement inside the
journalism with criticize the current obstacles to the field level journalism. They speak with
nostalgia of the previous liberty and they describe the current situation with adjectives like
“secretive” or “artificial”.
Este trabajo está dedicado a los periodistas deportivos a pie de campo en el ámbito del fútbol,
tanto en radio como en televisión. Se estudia la importancia y la evolución de esta figura
periodística, así como las diversas funciones durante las retransmisiones futbolísticas. Se inició la
investigación con interrogantes como cuál es la evolución de las funciones del periodista
inalámbrico / pie de campo en la radio y televisión o cómo de importante es el periodista a pie de
campo en las retransmisiones futbolísticas radiofónicas y televisivas.
Para desarrollar la investigación se ha utilizado una metodología cualitativa a través de entrevistas
a doce periodistas que participan, o lo han hecho en el pasado, en las transmisiones en directo.
Tras analizar los resultados, se ha determinado que existe un claro desequilibrio entre los
periodistas a pie de campo de la radio y de la televisión, debido al cambio obligado de ubicación
de los primeros para realizar su trabajo. Al mismo tiempo, se ha comprobado que las labores de
periodismo desde el césped son funciones complementarias dentro del trabajo diario de los
profesionales en sus medios de comunicación. Existe un alto nivel de consenso entre los
entrevistados al criticar las actuales trabas al desempeño del periodismo a pie de campo, por lo
que se refieren con nostalgia a la mayor libertad anterior y describen la situación actual con
adjetivos como “hermética” o “artificial”.
