Moda sostenible: una alternativa al Fast Fashion

El fast fashion cada vez está más presente en nuestra vida. Prendas baratas, de baja calidad y
fabricadas en grandes cantidades, cuyas consecuencias pasan desapercibidas. La industria de
la moda es el segundo sector más contaminante del mundo, y responsable de las grandes
cantidades de basura acumuladas en países en desarrollo. También se le acusa de explotar a
sus trabajadores - la mayoría mujeres y menores de edad - que realizan sus tareas en
condiciones inhumanas, recibiendo menos de cincuenta dólares al día. Sin embargo, existe
una alternativa para frenar la crisis climática generada por la moda rápida. La moda
sostenible utiliza materiales orgánicos o reciclados, libres de tóxicos, y asegura que sus
trabajadores tengan unas condiciones dignas y éticas. Todo el proceso de diseño, producción
y transporte está pensado para ayudar al planeta y cuidar a todos los que la habitan.
A través de un reportaje audiovisual de quince minutos, se mostrará lo que supone el fast
fashion y cómo la moda sostenible le hace frente. Con declaraciones de cuatro profesionales
del sector y guiado por la autora de este trabajo, se informa de esta alternativa tan en auge,
sus ventajas e inconvenientes.
Fast fashion is increasingly present in our lives. Cheap, low-quality, and mass-produced
clothes, whose consequences go unnoticed. The fashion industry is the second most polluting
sector in the world, and responsible for the large amounts of rubbish accumulated in
developing countries. Also, it is accused of exploiting its workers - the majority are women
and minors - who work in inhumane conditions, receiving less than fifty dollars a day.
However, there is an alternative to slow down the climate change generated by fast fashion.
Sustainable fashion uses organic or recycled materials, free of toxins, and ensures that its
workers have decent and ethical conditions. The whole design, production and transportation
process is designed to help the planted and take care of all those who inhabit it.
Through a fifteen minute audiovisual report, it will be shown what fast fashion means and
how sustainable fashion deals with it. With statements of four professionals in the sector and
guided by the author of this work, this booming alternative is reported along with its
advantages and disadvantages.
