To this end, the period covering the first century of existence of this means of transport and the initial industrialization of the area is followed; a time when both sectors were largely linked to coal, approximately between 1850 and 1950. Moreover, attempts are made to quantify and evaluate the back and forth linkages of the railroad with other activities. Este trabajo pretende documentar y hacer visible la relación que tuvo el suelo ferroviario con el industrial en una cabecera regional media como es la ciudad de Valladolid. Se sigue para ello el periodo que comprende el primer siglo de existencia de este medio de transporte y la primera industrialización de la zona. Una época en que ambos sectores estuvieron mas vinculados al carbón, aproximadamente entre 1850 y 1950.
