Es un hecho que nuestra actualidad se basa en una absoluta digitalización. Las redes
sociales se han convertido en los espacios digitales por excelencia donde interactuar y
comunicarse entre millones de usuarios. En plataformas como Twitter, Instagram,
Facebook, etc. se comparten ideas, opiniones y emociones sobre una amplia variedad de
temas, incluido el deporte.
A pesar del amplio abanico de ventajas que ofrecen las redes sociales, han surgido
complejas problemáticas que atañen a la gran mayoría de la población. Una de ellas es el
discurso de odio, objeto principal de estudio de este trabajo.
Si nos posicionamos en un ámbito deportivo especializado en el fútbol, podemos observar
como el discurso de odio en las redes sociales “futboleras” se ha convertido en un
problema preocupante y recurrente. La presencia de este tipo de discursos plantea
diferentes cuestiones ya no solo para los individuos víctimas del discurso de odio sino
para la sociedad en general.
Este trabajo se centrará en la plataforma de Twitter, una de las redes sociales más
populares para debatir y comentar eventos deportivos en tiempo real. Examinaremos su
papel como plataforma de propagación y amplificación del discurso de odio explorando
cómo se manifiesta ese odio en el fútbol actual y en la polarización de las identidades
deportivas centrándonos en la rivalidad clásica Barça/Madrid.
It is a fact that today's world is based on absolute digitalisation. Social networks have
become the digital spaces par excellence where millions of users interact and
communicate with each other. On platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.,
ideas, opinions and emotions are shared on a wide variety of topics, including sport.
Despite the wide range of advantages offered by social media, complex issues have arisen
that concern the vast majority of the population. One of these is hate speech, which is the
main focus of this paper.
If we position ourselves in a sporting environment specialising in football, we can observe
how hate speech on "football" social networks has become a worrying and recurrent
problem. The presence of this type of discourse raises different questions not only for the
individual victims of hate speech but also for society in general.
This paper will focus on the Twitter platform, one of the most popular social networks for
discussing and commenting on sporting events in real time. We will examine its role as a
platform for the propagation and amplification of hate speech by exploring how this hate
manifests itself in today's football and the polarisation of sporting identities with a focus
on the classic Barça/Madrid rivalry.
