La sensibilidad política castellana en vísperas al advenimiento Trastámara: propuesta metodológica y caso de estudio

En el presente trabajo se aborda el desarrollo del conflicto fratricida entre Pedro I
de Castilla y su hermanastro bastardo Enrique de Trastámara desde una perspectiva de
estudio que busca dar cuenta de sus complejas personalidades y respectivas sensibilidades
políticas. En pos de este objetivo, en primer lugar se explica la definición operativa del
término “sensibilidad política”, configurado por influjos intelectuales propios a la teoría
política y los tópicos culturales, e influjos emocionales involuntarios y subconscientes de
naturaleza pulsional que demandan satisfacción o represión. Posteriormente se da paso al
caso de estudio, la trayectoria política y psicológica de ambos hermanastros, repasando las
coyunturas fundamentales que configuraron no sólo sus personalidades sino también sus
sensibilidades políticas. Así, la guerra fratricida entre 1366 y 1369 fue la conclusión lógica de
una visceral enemistad profundamente personal que respondía, antes que a consideraciones
de talante estructural, a las personalidades involucradas de ambos hermanastros.
The following thesis studies the fratricidal conflict between Pedro I of Castile and
his bastard half-brother Enrique of Trastámara from a research perspective that seeks to
account for each of their own complex personalities and political sensitivities. In order to
achieve this objective, it will first be explained the operative definition of the term “political
sensitivity”, configured by intellectual influxes originating in political theory and cultural
topics, and emotional influxes of involuntary and subconscious drives that demand either
satisfaction or suppression. Thereafter comes the case of study, consisting of the political and
psychological trajectory of both half-brothers, reviewing the fundamental events that outlined
not only their personalities but their political sensitivities as well. Thus, the fratricidal war
between 1366 and 1369 was the logical conclusion of a profoundly personal visceral enmity
informed not so much by structural considerations but rather by the involved personalities of
both half-brothers.
