<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="es">Si bien hay numerosos estudios sobre las semanas santas urbanas, cada vez hay más interés por otras más modestas que se desarrollan en entornos rurales y que conservan peculiaridades. Estas, a veces se perciben como rarezas étnicas, pero en realidad son restos descontextualizados de tradiciones antaño realizadas. “Los Grillos” de la procesión del Viernes Santo de Cervatos de la Cueza, en Palencia, son el ejemplo de esta Semana Santa rural. Lo que en un momento, nació como un acto de penitencia, se ha convertido en un rito popular. Aunque muchos todavía lo ejecutan con el sentido primigenio, paulatinamente se va convirtiendo en un rito tradicional que los identifica, especialmente a los que están en la diáspora.</dim:field>
<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="es">While there are numerous studies on urban Holy Weeks, there is increasing interest in other more modest ones that take place in rural environments and that preserve their peculiarities. These are sometimes perceived as ethnic oddities, but in reality they are decontextualized remnants of traditions once carried out. The "Los Grillos" of the Good Friday procession of Cervatos de la Cueza, in the province of Palencia, are an example of this rural Holy Week. What at one time was born as an act of penitence has become a popular rite. Although, many still perform it with the original sense, it is gradually becoming a traditional rite that identifies them, especially those who are in the diaspora.</dim:field>
