Es indudable la multitud de ventajas que reporta, pero no debemos de olvidar los riesgos a los que se enfrenta la población más vulnerable, la adolescencia. Este trabajo pretende conocer la percepción del uso del teléfono móvil que tienen los jóvenes de 2º y 3º de la ESO de un instituto de Valladolid, como muestra representativa (60 personas) de este colectivo, sobre variables relacionadas con el uso del teléfono móvil, así como la percepción que tienen sobre los beneficios y los peligros de Internet o derivados de las redes sociales. Se ha realizado una investigación exploratoria, utilizando un cuestionario elaborado ad hoc para la ocasión. Se han planteado preguntas de opción múltiple y otras con escalas de respuesta sobre diferentes emociones o de grado de mejora en distintos ámbitos de su vida a raíz de tener teléfono móvil. Los resultados indican precocidad en la edad en la que han tenido teléfono móvil con acceso a Internet, con escasa supervisión parental y una percepción muy positiva y beneficiosa de tener móvil. Se aprecia una cierta presión por contestar mensajes y estar conectados constantemente y no se perciben, en general, como víctimas de ningún tipo de acoso o que el dispositivo móvil les altere el sueño. Como idiosincrasia del grupo diana, hacer amigos/as, es el propósito que más persiguen a la hora de utilizar el móvil. Nowadays, the mobile phone is one of the most attractive technological objects used by young people. There is no doubt that it has many advantages, but we should not forget the risks faced by the most vulnerable population, adolescents. This paper aims to get to know the perception of the use of smartphones by young people in 2nd and 3rd year of CSE of a high school in Valladolid (Spain), as a representative sample (60 people) of this group, about issues related to the use of mobile phones, as well as the perception they have about the benefits and dangers of the Internet or those derived from social networks. An exploratory research has been carried out, using a questionnaire developed ad hoc for the occasion. Multiple-choice questions and others with response scales on different emotions or degree of improvement in different areas of their lives as a result of having a 2 smartphone were used. The results show precociousness in the age at which they have had a phone with Internet access, with little parental supervision and a very positive and beneficial perception of having a mobile phone. There is a certain pressure to answer messages and be constantly connected and they do not perceive themselves, in general, as victims of any type of harassment or that the mobile device may disturb their sleep.
