La historia de la administración de justicia en España está marcada por la creación de la Real Chancillería de Valladolid en el siglo XIV. Este estamento judicial se asentó en el palacio de los Vivero, pero con el
paso del tiempo fue colonizando la manzana fruto de
las ampliaciones, primero de su Archivo y después de
la Cárcel Real, creando finalmente un complejo entramado de edificios al servicio de la Audiencia. Las
Chancillerías se abolieron en 1834, sufriendo cada edificio un destino muy distinto desde entonces.
Este trabajo pretende elaborar una biografía
gráfica del complejo administrativo a partir de documentación conservada. Se ha elaborado una serie de
planimetrías que ayudan a analizar las distintas formas
que presentó tanto la estructura interna de este conjunto monumental, así como los numerosos cambios
del aspecto exterior que mostró a lo largo de seis siglos
de historia.
The history of the administration of justice in Spain
is marked by the creation of the Royal Chancery of Valladolid in the fourteenth century. This judicial body was
based in the Vivero palace, but over time it colonized
the block as a result of the extensions, first of its Archive
and then of the Royal Prison, finally creating a complex
network of buildings at the service of the Court. The
Chancelleries were abolished in 1834, and each building has suffered a very different fate since then.
This work aims to elaborate a graphic biography
of the administrative complex based on preserved documentation. A series of planimetry has been drawn
up that helps to analyse the different forms presented
by both the internal structure of this monumental complex, as well as the numerous changes in the external
appearance that it showed throughout six centuries of
history.
