<title>An Essential Guide to Sports Performance</title>
<creator>Castillo Alvira, Daniel</creator>
<description>This collection investigates hot topics related to sports performance,&#xd;
that is, the match analysis, the training loads, the physical performance, the&#xd;
anthropometric characteristics and the recovery strategies in outfield and&#xd;
goalkeeper soccer players. In addition, this book analyzes the influence of&#xd;
contextual variables and initial players’ level on the athletes’&#xd;
performances. Thus, coach staff could find relevant information and&#xd;
practical approaches to include in the soccer training processes.&#xd;
Furthermore, a systematic review of how periodize the training loads&#xd;
troughout a mycrocicle is written to understand the training process&#xd;
substantially. Additionally, this collection focuses on the methodology of&#xd;
muscle force of volleyball players as well as a relevant topic, which could&#xd;
apply to any sports modality, such as the flexibility interventions and&#xd;
protocols to optimize the athletes’’ sports performance. Thus, physical&#xd;
trainers of different sports could learn some strategies to enhance the sports&#xd;
performance of their athletes. Finally, considering that cycling is one the&#xd;
most practiced sports around the world, two chapters are prepared to bring&#xd;
both the amateur and professional practioners towards novel sport&#xd;
perspectives. Therefore, one chapter is based on leisure cycling and&#xd;
women’s participation in Scotland, and another chapter is developed to&#xd;
improve the saffle height configuration of cyclists to achieve better&#xd;
performance</description>
