En el presente trabajo se trata de conocer mediante un análisis documental como
los profesionales del Trabajo Social deben enfrentarse a situaciones en las que
están implicadas personas con tentativa suicida o con aquellas que ya han
intentado cometer suicidio. Se debe señalar la importancia del papel que tienen
los trabajadores sociales en relación con el suicidio y la realidad de aquellas
personas que lo sufren.
El suicidio en España se ha convertido en los últimos años en la principal causa
externa de mortalidad. Se debe tener conciencia de que el suicidio es una
enfermedad mental, pero es considerada como una realidad invisibilizada por el
resto de la población. Al no tratarla a tiempo y adecuadamente, sin darla la
importancia que tiene, se ha convertido en la primera causa externa de
mortalidad concretamente en España.
Por ello, se busca la obtención de datos en relación con el suicidio y como los
profesionales de trabajo social intervienen ante dichas situación, ya que son una
figura fundamental para tratar dichas situaciones problemáticas con los
individuos y sus familiares.
The present work seeks to understand, through a documentary analysis, how
Social Work professionals should face situations in which people with a suicide
attempt or those who have already attempted to commit suicide are involved.
The importance of the role that social workers have in relation to suicide and the
reality of those who suffer from it should be noted.
In recent years, suicide in Spain has become the main external cause of
mortality. One must be aware that suicide is a mental illness, but it is considered
a reality that is made invisible by the rest of the population. By not treating it in
time and adequately, without giving it the importance it has, it has become the
first external cause of mortality specifically in Spain.
For this reason, we seek to obtain data in relation to suicide and how social work
professionals intervene in these situations, since they are a fundamental figure in
dealing with these problematic situations with individuals and their families.
