El trabajo social sanitario, Alétheia en cuidados paliativos domiciliarios del medio rural de Castilla y León

El presente Trabajo Fin de Grado profundiza en la figura del Trabajo Social Sanitario en el
ámbito de los Cuidados Paliativos, más concretamente en domicilios rurales de Castilla y
León. Desde el concepto griego Alétheia, entendido como verdad desvelada, se pretende
arrojar luz a una realidad oculta: ¿Es realmente necesaria la intervención del Trabajo Social
Sanitario en la atención paliativa domiciliar en zonas rurales de Castilla y León?
La investigación se centra en conocer las necesidades y demandas de pacientes paliativos
y sus familias al final de la vida, con el objetivo de comprender la eficacia de intervención
de los Trabajadores Sociales Sanitarios. A través de un enfoque cualitativo, se analiza el
procedimiento de actuación y la atención integral y coordinada en entornos específicos,
como el domiciliario y el rural. Mediante un perspectiva cuantitativa, se investigan las
barreras que enfrenta el Trabajo Social Sanitario en la implementación de nuevas áreas de
intervención rural, así como, se confirma la atención domiciliar como el entorno
preferente de atención. Este estudio señala la importancia de intervención del Trabajo
Social Sanitario, mostrando cómo la dedicación y la humanidad en el cuidado pueden
influir notoriamente en la calidad de vida de pacientes paliativos y familias.
This Final Degree Project delves into the figure of Health Social Work in the field of
Palliative Care, more specifically in rural homes in Castilla y León. From the Greek concept
Alétheia, understood as revealed truth, it is intended to shed light on a hidden reality: Is
the intervention of Social Health Work necessary in home palliative care in rural areas of
Castilla y León?
The research focuses on knowing the needs and demands of palliative patients and their
families at the end of life, with the aim of understanding the effectiveness of intervention
of Health Social Workers. Through a qualitative approach, the procedure for action and
comprehensive and coordinated care in specific environments, such as home and rural
care, are analyzed. Through a quantitative perspective, the barriers faced by Health Social
Work in the implementation of new areas of rural intervention are investigated, as well as
home care is confirmed as the preferred care environment. This study points out the
importance of the intervention of Health Social Work, showing how dedication and
humanity in care can notoriously influence the quality of life of palliative patients and their
families.
