<dc:title>Online marketing of fresh fruit: A corpus based contrastive análisis (English &amp; Spanish) of terminology related to texture</dc:title>

<dc:description>We carry out a contrastive analysis (English-Spanish) of apple and pear&#xd;
descriptions. A comparable ad-hoc corpus for both fruits was compiled from websites&#xd;
of fruit retail businesses. We analyzed references to texture, i.e. the vocabulary&#xd;
used and the most frequent collocations in both languages. Explanations are&#xd;
characterized by a wide variety and density of terminology used quite straightforwardly&#xd;
to describe texture and mouthfeel sensations with great precision. Textural&#xd;
properties are presented mainly with descriptive adjectives and specific&#xd;
nouns, with a difference in usage depending on the language used and fruit variety&#xd;
being described.</dc:description>
