El valor del ferrocarril reside en su reconocimiento como paisaje cultural y como patrimonio
industrial, destacando por tanto como un paisaje patrimonial por excelencia.
Este reconocimiento contribuye a configurar el propio concepto de paisaje del ferrocarril.
Ante el problema del abandono de infraestructuras ferroviarias, se presentan
diversas alternativas para su rescate. Para corroborar este planteamiento se analizan
experiencias prácticas que permiten identificar los resultados y significados derivados
de estas iniciativas. Finalmente, la teoría sobre el valor del ferrocarril, junto con los casos
prácticos estudiados, así como el análisis, estudio y documentación de los aspectos
históricos, culturales, sociales, arquitectónicos del caso específico de la línea La Fregeneda-
Barca d’Alva y su integración en el paisaje natural de la región, nos permiten
reivindicar su valor y la necesidad de su protección, conservación y revalorización
The value of the railway lies in its recognition as a cultural landscape and as industrial
heritage, thus standing out as an exemplary heritage landscape. This recognition helps
to shape the very concept of railway landscape. In light of the issue of abandoned railway
infrastructures, various alternatives for their rescue are presented. To support this
proposal, practical experiences are analyzed, allowing the identification of the results
and meanings derived from these initiatives. Finally, the theory regarding the value of
the railway, along with the studied practical cases and the analysis, study, and documentation
of the historical, cultural, social, and architectural aspects of the specific case
of the La Fregeneda-Barca d’Alva line, and its integration into the natural landscape
of the region, enables us to advocate for its value and the necessity for its protection,
conservation, and valorization
