El Jardín Botánico de Caracas, posee un significativo
papel como pulmón verde de la ciudad y centro de
biodiversidad, declarado patrimonio de la humanidad
por la Unesco como parte de la U.C.V en el año 2000.
Este trabajo investigó las posibles estrategias para
llevar a cabo la rehabilitación de este, centrándose en
la mejora de la infraestructura y servicios para sus
visitantes, teniendo como principios marco la calidad y
sostenibilidad ambiental y la integración de dicha
infraestructura en la naturaleza.
Con este fin se indagó sobre los jardines botánicos en
el mundo y se definieron las variables con las cuales se
ejecutó un diagnóstico de su estado actual.
Se examinó, también, los elementos necesarios que
deben componer su programa arquitectónico a fin de
crear una propuesta en la que se plantearon acciones
para su transformación desde una visión
arquitectónica como espacio público urbano.
Sin lugar a duda es de gran importancia elaborar
trabajos de esta índole debido al alarmante nivel que
ha alcanzado la perdida global de especies vegetales,
por lo que, los jardines botánicos constituyen una
alternativa crucial para su conservación y, por ende, la
preservación del Planeta
The Botanical Garden of Caracas, plays a significant role
as the city's green lung and biodiversity center, declared
a world heritage site by UNESCO in 2000.
This work will investigate possible strategies to carry out
its rehabilitation, focusing on the improvement of
infrastructure and services for its visitors, having as
framework principles environmental quality and
sustainability and the integration of said infrastructure in
nature.
To this end, botanical gardens in the world will be
investigated and the variables with which to carry out a
diagnosis of their current state will be defined.
The necessary elements that must make up its
architectural program will also be examined in order to
achieve a proposal in which actions will be proposed for
its transformation from an architectural vision as an
urban public space.
Without a doubt, it is of great importance to carry out
work of this nature due to the alarming level that the
global loss of plant species has reached, therefore,
botanical gardens constitute a crucial alternative for their
conservation and, therefore, the preservation of the
Planet. .
