<mods:abstract>This Final Degree Project explore the use of traditional games as a tool to
energize school recess and foster more enriching relationships between boys and girls.
The topic was chosen based on the author's experience as a teacher and the observation
that some students—particularly those in the process of adapting—do not actively
participate during recess, thereby missing out on a space with great educational
potential.
Through a learning situation specifically designed for this context, the proposal
reintegrates traditional games from different parts of the world with the aim of
promoting coexistence and mutual respect. The approach taken is interdisciplinary,
linking various areas of the curriculum such as Spanish Language and Literature, Social
Sciences, Artistic Education, thus enriching the proposal from multiple pedagogical
perspectives.
Traditional games are presented here not merely as a form of play, but as a
means to foster interculturality within the school environment—understood as an active
and respectful relationship between cultures through mutual understanding. Ultimately,
this thesis advocates for recess as an educational space and for play as a vehicle to build
more inclusive, participatory, and intercultural school communities.</mods:abstract>
