Entre el héroe histórico y el mito audiovisual: el Cid en la película de Anthony Mann (1961) y la serie de Amazon Prime (2020)

Este trabajo se centra en la figura del Cid y concretamente en su mitificación, partiendo de un
estudio de la figura histórica y su contexto histórico en el que se presta especial atención a su
faceta de guerrero y como esta es clave en su mitologización. A partir de este estudio en la
segunda parte se realiza un análisis de dos obras de ficción que mitologizan al Cid y como estas
reflejan los valores de la sociedad en la que se produce la obra, el franquismo y la democracia
española respectivamente.
This paper focuses on the figure of the Cid and specifically on his mythologization, starting
from a study of the historical figure and his historical context in which special attention is paid
to his facet of warrior and how this is central to his mythologization. From this study, in the
second part, an analysis of two works of fiction that mythologize the Cid and how they reflect
the values of the society in which the work is produced, Franco's regime and the Spanish
democracy respectively.
