<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="es">The character of Mary I, or Mary Tudor, has been traditionally linked to the belief that
she was a sanguinary queen who only wanted to persecute the heresy that, according to
her, invaded England during her rule, and that bad reputation has persisted for centuries.
However, some 21st century authors and historians, considering the latest historical
discoveries, are actively trying to reshape her reputation through their works. This
dissertation utilizes two biofictions based on the character of Mary I which try to shift
this vision of the former queen, with them being Queen of Martyrs: The Story of Mary I
(2017) by Samantha Wilcoxon and Mary, queen of Sorrows (2024) by Alison Weir have
been used. The fictional analysis shows a more positive view of Mary, focusing more on
her positive traits, and opposing the propagandistic reputation that has reached our days.</dim:field>

estas Queen of Martyrs: The Story of Mary I (2017) de Samantha Wilcoxon y Mary,
Queen of Sorrows (2024) de Alison Weir.
