Los juzgados de paz en los pueblos han estado funcionando desde la Ley Provisional sobre Organización del Poder Judicial de 5 de octubre en 1855. Este es un estudio de la casuística y cronología de los documentos conservados en las secciones de Juicios de Faltas y de Juicios Verbales civiles, del fondo Juzgado Procesos, del Archivo Municipal de Megeces desde 1869 a 1974. Su análisis se ha dirigido a estudiar los motivos de confrontación entre los vecinos del pueblo y forasteros, lugar de la mujer en ello. Como caso particular, se ha tomado la figura de Elvira Martínez Gutiérrez.
The justices of the peace un the towns have been operating since the Provisional Law on the Organitation of the Judiciary of October 5, 1855. This is a study of the case law and chronology of the documents preserved in the Misdemeanor Trials and Civil verbal Trials sections of the Court of Processes collection of the Municipal Archive of Megeces from 1869 to 1974. Its analysis focuses on the causes of confrontation between town residents and outsiders, and the role of women in this. The figure of Elvira Martínez Gutiérrez is considered as a particular case.
