La comunicación política en X en las elecciones legislativas francesas de 2024

La red social Twitter/X es una de las herramientas de comunicación política más
importantes del siglo XXI (Reveilhac y Morselli, 2022). Cada vez más gente se informa
y forma sus opiniones en el sitio en el que los partidos políticos evitan la intervención
de la prensa y lanzan sus mensajes a la ciudadanía de forma directa y sin filtros
periodísticos (Pérez-Curiel, Jiménez-Marín y Domínguez-García, 2022). Este trabajo
analiza las publicaciones de los candidatos de las elecciones legislativas francesas de
2024 y sus partidos colectivos correspondientes para determinar si su comunicación
sigue siendo vertical (Otterbacher, Shapiro y Hemphill, 2012), sobre qué temas lo
hacen y si utilizan información real o falsa. El estudio demuestra que los partidos
prefieren pedir el voto y diabolizar a sus rivales a presentar sus propuestas y que
existen partidos que siguen su propia narrativa en lugar de los hechos establecidos.
Twitter/X is one of the biggest political communication tools of the 21st century
(Reveilhac & Morselli, 2022). A great amount of people form their opinions and get their
news from it. Political parties cut the middle man and send their messages to the
masses without any journalistic filters (Pérez-Curiel, Jiménez-Marín &
Domínguez-García, 2022) thanks to it. This thesis analyzes Twitter/X posts from
candidates and political parties in the 2024 french legislative elections to determine if
they communicate vertically (Otterbacher, Shapiro & Hemphill, 2012), what topics they
focus on and if the information they give is real. This study proves that political parties
prefer asking for votes and demonizing their opposition rahter than make propositions.
It also proves that some follow their own narrative instead of established facts.
