En este contexto, la violencia que se desarrolla dentro de los centros penitenciaros, ya sea entre internos o internos y funcionarios, supone una grave amenaza para el ejercicio efectivo de dichos derechos. Este trabajo analiza cómo afecta esta violencia a la integridad física y moral de los reclusos, derecho a la dignidad y seguridad y finalmente cómo la Administración debe responder ante esta situación. Se estudian las medidas de prevención actualmente vigentes, como los módulos de respeto, programas de intervención en conductas violentas o la mediación penitenciaria, así como los protocolos internos aplicables. A lo largo del trabajo se evidencia la necesidad de poner en equilibrio el mantenimiento del orden con el respeto a los derechos humanos, fortaleciendo las políticas de prevención y protección dentro del sistema penitenciario. Persons deprived of liberty experience limitations on their fundamental rights from the moment they enter prison, establishing a special relationship of subjection with the prison administration. In this context, the violence that occurs within penitentiary institutions— whether between inmates or between inmates and prison staff—represents a serious threat to the effective exercise of those rights. This paper analyzes how such violence affects the physical and moral integrity of prisoners, as well as their right to dignity and security, and how the administration should respond to these situations. The study examines current preventive measures, such as respect modules, intervention programs for violent behavior, and prison mediation, along with the applicable internal protocols.
