Durante la Transición política española, entendida desde el fallecimiento de Francisco Franco
(noviembre de 1975) hasta las elecciones generales de 1982 con la llegada del PSOE al Gobierno,
el país experimenta un tumulto de cambios políticos, sociales y legales. El contexto socio político
existente se agrava, además, con una fuerte crisis económica que provoca altas tasas de desempleo
y precariedad laboral. El cúmulo de factores, junto con el ansia de lograr constituir un Estado
Democrático para alcanzar las libertades coartadas durante la dictadura, conlleva a un aumento de
la conflictividad laboral llegando a alcanzar las cifras más altas de la actividad huelguística de toda
la segunda mitad del siglo XX. El movimiento obrero se configura como un actor principal,
propulsor del proceso de transición a través de intensas manifestaciones y huelgas. No obstante,
la versión que popularmente se ha dado a conocer de este proceso histórico parece haber obviado
o ninguneado el papel real del movimiento obrero respecto al fin alcanzado. Este trabajo pretende
confirmar esta hipótesis a través del análisis comparativo del trato publicado, por parte de la prensa,
de diferentes acontecimientos de especial relevancia protagonizados por el movimiento obrero
durante la época, intentando entrever las posibles causas de dicha argumentación
During the Spanish political transition, understood from the death of Francisco Franco
(November 1975) until the general elections of 1982 with the arrival of the PSOE to the
Government, the country is experiencing a tumult of political, social and legal changes. The
existing socio-political context is also aggravated by a strong economic crisis that causes high rates
of unemployment and job insecurity. The accumulation of factors, together with the desire to
constitute a Democratic State to achieve the freedoms restricted during the dictatorship, leads to
an increase in labor conflicts reaching the highest figures of strike activity in the entire second half
of the twentieth century. The labour movement is configured as a main actor, driving the transition
process through intense demonstrations and strikes. However, the version that has been popularly
known of this historical process seems to have ignored or mist the real role of the labour
movement with respect to the goal achieved. This work aims to confirm this hypothesis through
the comparative analysis of the published treatment, by the press, of different events of special
relevance carried out by the labour movement during the time, trying to glimpse the possible causes
of said argument
